BankLink

What is BankLink ?

BankLink is a simple service that enables you to reduce your time coding bank deposits and withdrawals by between 75 – 100% whilst producing timely, accurate and meaningful budgets and reports of GST, profitability and cashflow at the push of a button.

To find out more about the benefits of Banklink, how it works, etc simply click on the following topics, or contact Julie Box.

What are the benefits for me?

  • You no longer waste hours of your precious time writing up, analysing and reconciling your cashbooks.  Generally time saving ranges from 75 – 100% depending upon how much you want to trust bank-proven technology.
  • You no longer have to prepare your GST Returns.  As GST reporting is simply a by-product of coding in BankLink, why not have us take care of GST compliance issues?  Avoid the hassles of GST Return preparations, not to mention hefty IRD fines.
  • Your accounting affairs are up-to-date on a weekly or monthly basis (your choice of timeframes).
  • You no longer spend hours at the end of each financial year compiling huge mountains of paper to send to us.
  • Improved quality and timeliness of your accounting reports.  Meaningful management reports are instantaneous and very helpful with your management of your business, profitability, taxes and cashflow.
  • No costly additional software needed, no faxing or posting required and many additional features at your fingertips such as Cashflow forecasting, budgeting, graphs and much more.

    What could be easier?

How does BankLink work for me?

Once you have given us authority to use BankLink for your data processing we will receive an electronic copy of your bank statements.  From this point there are three ways in which your data can be processed:

Basic

You simply code each transaction on your bank statement and mail / fax your statements for us to process and then we send you the relevant reports.

Analysis Coding

Simply, if you want to write a numeric code on each cheque then you can probably reduce uncoded transactions to only a handful each month because the software recognises your code and automatically codes it.  Everything complete within a few minutes each month!

Analysis coding is a free service offered by the five main banks (ANZ, BNZ, National Bank, WestpacTrust and ASB).

All you need to start Analysis Coding is to ask your bank for an analysis coded cheque and deposit book and talk with us about using our standard codes or your own personalised codes.

Online Accounting

Alternatively, you can now access your own Banklink file on our website and quickly and effortlessly enter your own data and print your own reports.

You have a personalised password thereby ensuring your files are secure and not accessible to anyone but you.  Full phone and on-site support is provided by us and we carefully check your work, make and /or advise you of any changes necessary then at the touch of a button reports (including the GST Return) are printed and that's all there is to do.

Is BankLink secure?

An electronic copy of your bank statement is sent to us under strict security measures, in accordance with the requirements of the major banks.  The transaction data is in encrypted form and can only be accessed by us.  This is considerably more secure than sending bank statements by post!

We cannot register with BankLink until you have given us authority and at no time do we or BankLink have the ability to change any details or transactions.  There is no need to supply your PIN.  BankLink is a totally separate system from Internet Banking.

Is the information accurate?

Absolutely, the information is sent directly from your bank so there is no room for error.

Will I still receive my bank statement?

The relationship between you and your bank does not change.  You will still receive your printed statement from your bank as usual.

What happens if I change my Bank Account during the year?

You'll need to let us know a few weeks before this happens.  We'll simply send you a fresh Third Party Authority form for your new bank.  You need to complete and return the authority form to us so that we can start receiving data from the moment you open the new account.

Can you backdate transactions in BankLink?

Yes, this can be done manually and backdating a few weeks' transactions is not difficult to do.  Some institutions can provide backdated data, however this is generally the exception and normally only for the existing calendar month.

We recommend you get BankLink loaded as early as possible .                                                                                                                    Back to Our Services Index
